This role is a fixed term contract for 18 months working 40 weeks per year during school term time plus 6 weeks holiday to be taken during school closure periods.

About the role:

As Business Administration Apprentice at Arc Oakbridge School, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will provide administrative support within the school whilst being the initial point of contact for parents, visitors and other stakeholders. You will be an ambassador for the school and embody our values, vision and ethos in all interactions.

About you:

Apprenticeships are a great way to start or change your career. For this role we are looking for someone with a keen interest in developing their administration skills and who has a knack of being able to engage with all kinds of people through both verbal and written communications. You will also have excellent attention to detail and confidence in using technology (emails, laptops, computers, phones). You will work well as part of a team, but also be able to effectively organise your own workload. Word processing skills will be essential in this role along with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

N.B. For the purposes of enrolment on to the apprenticeship training course, we cannot accept applications from candidates with a qualification equal to or above in a related subject, or with more than 12-24 months of work experience in an administration role.

Arc Oakbridge School, part of Kedleston Group, is an independent specialist day school in central Birmingham for children and young people with autism aged between the ages of 7 and 16. Our school offers a calm, low arousal, safe, positive and nurturing place where young people with a primary need of autism (ASC), including Asperger’s Syndrome and associated complex needs can learn and grow. Cutting edge technology, including virtual reality, is used effectively as part of both the transition to the school and in teaching and support on an everyday basis.
