Austen Cottage offers a homely environment, and they provide opportunities for children and young people aged from 9 – 17 to achieve to the best of their ability.
The nurturing and consistent approach enables the children to address their feelings and emotions in a safe and manageable way.
Our Kedleston Group Stepping into Family Living Framework provides a structured way for the children to move back to family living as quickly as possible and thrive.
All the children and young people living at Austen Cottage engage in education through local schools, colleges or appropriate training centres. Due to the potential age range of the young people, some may also be accessing apprenticeships or studying towards GCSE courses.
The experienced team work hard to ensure any children who they welcome into the home feel happy and cared for. We caught up with the Registered Manager, Gabriella who said: “I am really proud of the whole team, and we take pride in giving children and young people the positive experiences and outcomes which they deserve.” The home boasts 5 double ensuite rooms for the children, a large garden, a spacious and social kitchen/ dining room area and even a cinema/games room.
