The Occupational Therapy team at our Wings School Notts have started running a Sensory Awareness Group with the children and young people.  They were encouraged to smell a selection of different scents and rate them in order of their preference.  This was a new experience for the children, and they enjoyed the session so much have asked for it to be run again. 

In the future, the children will be able to choose a fragrance which can hopefully assist them with when they are feeling dysregulated.  The school will then make this smell accessible to them at all times on a piece of fabric or item such as a small cuddly toy.
