Wings School Cumbria have had some very special visitors to their farm this week.....how cute are these pet lambs!
When a sheep gives birth to triplets, it sadly only has the ability to feed two of them so the third will always have to be looked after and fed by humans (if it cannot be fed by another sheep with one lamb) and becomes a pet lamb.
These new born lambs came to meet the children and young people from Wings School Cumbria, who were all more than happy to help care for them for a morning.
Wings School Cumbria is an independent specialist school and children’s home nestled to the south of the glorious Lake District.
They work with young people who have been affected by social and emotional challenges. There is a strong sense of community at Wings Cumbria where all young people feel safe and nurtured so they can achieve their potential.
The school is set within extensive grounds, both the grounds and the school buildings lend themselves to both on and off-site learning. Facilities include full sized playing pitches, a sports hall, moto-cross & mountain bike tracks and our on-site farm with access to equestrian facilities, to name but a few.
Everyone is looking forward to another visit from the lambs very soon!
