Our Wings School Cumbria is a nurturing independent residential and day school for children who are aged between 10 - 17 and have social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).
There is a particular focus on outdoor learning which enables those children and young people who find working in a classroom difficult the opportunity to re-engage in their education and the school community.
The school boasts a range of practical activities and outdoor learning opportunities including archery, trampolining, paddle boarding, forest school, photography, motor biking, equine facilitated learning, Duke of Edinburgh Award, John Muir Award and off-road buggies to name but a few!
There is also a mini-farm where the children can take part in all aspects of farm life from caring for the animals to growing delicious fruit and vegetables to eat in the school.
What a brilliant way to make learning interactive, engaging and most of all fun.
