This month Wings Cumbria have been developing their knowledge and skills with two of our regular external training providers, Barnardo’s and Ringway Training.  Barnardo’s ‘s delivered three workshop days on attachment, trauma and self-harm.  Ringway delivered one day courses on the impact of domestic violence and recognising harmful sexualised behaviours between young people.  To facilitate protected learning time, training is delivered offsite at our local conference centre for the day.  The school and home have a rolling training programme for all the staff team to meet mandatory training requirements, as well as giving opportunities for staff to continually develop their understanding of a range of subjects our young people may need support with.  We encourage and invest both in group and individual learning opportunities for everyone, which further upskill our teams to be able to achieve positive outcomes for our young people.
