Senior Care Worker – Children’s Residential School
Qualified Senior Care Worker = £22,360 + £50 per sleep-in
Hours: 40 per week on a shift basis
Essential requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 Children & Young People or equivalent
- 2 years’ experience of successful working with SEBD children, or within the SEN sector
- Evidence of knowledge and experience of behaviour management
Wings School Cumbria is a residential special school for boys and girls between the ages of 9 – 17 years, which also offers day placements. The school supports children with social and emotional challenges that can sometimes affect their behaviour.
We are looking for committed, supportive and passionate people to join our dynamic and friendly team of residential care workers. You will play a key part in the development and wellbeing of the children at Wings School, and in return will be supported to progress in your career.
Key aspects of being a Senior Care Worker:
- Establishing warm, caring and professional relationships with the children in his / her care
- Providing levels of care and support appropriate to the general needs of the children and those as outlined in their Statements of Special Educational Needs and their Care Plans
- Directing/supporting staff
- Report writing and record keeping
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children in accordance with Wings ‘Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy’
- Providing organised and structured recreational clubs and activities for the development of the children
- Providing oral and written assessments, reports and reviews relating to individual children or groups of children
- Being a Key Worker for a child or small group of children offering appropriate levels of support, guidance and care
- Successfully completing all training and qualifications in accordance with organisational and regulatory requirements
