Learning Support Assistant (0.8FTE)

This is a part time role working 4 days per week

Salary: £12,800 - £14,400 pro rata (based on £16,000 - £18,000 FTE)

Main responsibilities:

  • To support classroom teachers in the delivery of classroom lessons and related educational activities so that students make expected or better progress academically, socially and emotionally.
  • To provide general support to the class teacher in the management and organisation of the pupils and the classroom.
  • To use behaviour management strategies effectively and in line with the school’s policy and procedures, which contribute to a purposeful learning environment.
  • To promote the inclusion of all pupils ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
  • To promote the interests and ensure the safety and well-being of students in accordance with good practice and the policies and procedures of the school.
  • To be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, security and confidentiality, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
  • To represent Kedleston and the school positively at all times by reflecting its mission statement, core philosophy and ethos and by reflecting good educational practice.
