School Principal

Salary circa £80,000 - £85,000 per annum dependent on experience

Wings School Notts is part of the Kedleston Group and opened in 2009. We are an independent therapeutic residential community and day school located in a small quiet village in Nottinghamshire. Our school is a beautiful historic building set in extensive grounds and our homes are purpose built and are decorated individually to reflect the residing children's tastes.

We provide social care and education for children and young people aged 9 to 17 years.  Children and young people who live with us and/or attend the school often have social, emotional and mental health needs arising from early childhood trauma and attachment-related difficulties. Wings Notts also has vast experience in supporting children with specific learning needs such as; attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD, Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Dyslexia and Dyspraxia.

We are seeking an experienced, inspirational and committed Principal who will lead with determination, humility, and resolve, consistently achieves excellence, invites innovation and thrives on making a positive difference to the lives of the young people we serve.

We are rated ‘good’ for education and hold four 'Outstanding' Ofsted Social Care gradings in a row. As Principal, you will share our commitment to building on our past success as well as share our values and vision to create a safe and caring community where there is a passion for learning and mutual respect for all. 

You will be able to evidence demonstrable success in:

  • leading and managing a residential SEN school
  • working with children with SEMH needs and/or are on the autistic spectrum
  • leading education and/or care services through inspection frameworks
  • working in partnership with Local Authorities, schools, colleges and local businesses
  • self-assessing and implementing robust improvement plans
  • education and care funding and commissioning acumen
  • people management and development
