Domestic Assistant: 25 hours per week 1.30pm to 6.30pm Monday to Friday.

High Peak School is a residential school providing 52 week provision for young people aged 7 to 18 years with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and we are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join us as a Domestic Assistant. The role will be to clean the school under the direction of the Domestic Supervisor in accordance with defined hygiene standards, to keep the classrooms and communal areas clean. Also to support the Kitchen team with cleaning when needed to support colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the Domestic Supervisor ensure the school is cleaned to the highest standards.
  • To work alongside the other domestic team members ensuring that the agreed standards and targets are maintained.
  • To meet all statutory requirements for Ofsted and Local Authority Hygiene inspections.
  • To promote and participate in a positive approach to Health and Safety in reporting any concerns, the use of cleaning products and maintaining of equipment at High Peak School. 
  • Cleaning the clasroooms, corridors and staff areas to a high standard.
  • Storing safely all cleaning materials at the end of the duty period in the appropriate storage facility.
  • Participating in thorough ‘Spring Cleaning’ of allocated areas during School holidays.
  • Adhering to good health and hygiene practices.
  • Participating in arrangements for your induction, supervision, training and development.
  • Undertaking any qualifications deemed necessary by the Principal/ Registered Manager to fulfil the requirements of the post.

Person Specification:

  • Experience previously in a domestic role
  • Hard working and flexible attitude
  • Organised approach
