About Us

Leaways School London is part of the Kedleston Group and opened in 2012.

We are an independent specialist day school in Hackney, East London and provide education for children and young people aged from 7 to 17 who have social, emotional and mental health issues.

We support children and young people who are not able to attend a main stream school at a certain time in their life.

Our trained and experienced staff are dedicated to identifying and focusing on children’s positive attributes. This approach helps our young people to change the negative narrative many of them arrive with and is linked to an important learning objective - “We are learning to rewrite our story”

Our school also contains a separate specialist schooling provision for children and young people who are on the autistic spectrum. The unit was a finalist in the 2017 UK Autism Hero Awards’ Outstanding Achievement in Education category and was chosen from hundreds of entries into the awards after having been nominated by the parent of a young person.

In return for your hard work and commitment we offer a competitive salary and other benefits including contributory pension scheme, comprehensive induction and ongoing training and professional development opportunities, refer-a-friend rewards, perks at work, employee assistance programme, birthday treats, employee of the month awards, cycle to work scheme.

Kedleston Group Limited is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its young people. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check. We are an equal opportunities employer welcoming applications from all sections of the community.
