Wings School Cumbria is seeking to appoint a School Cleaner.

Wings School Cumbria is a nurturing independent specialist residential and day school for children who are aged 9 – 17. Our vision is to create a safe, and caring community where there is a passion for learning and mutual respect for all. Children and young people have the opportunity to develop to their full potential in preparation for their future lives in a nurturing setting by providing the highest standards in both Education and Care.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

Cleaning

  • Cleaning to a high standard the area or areas delegated by the Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • Storing safely all cleaning materials at the end of the duty period in the appropriate storage facility.
  • Participating in thorough ‘Spring Cleaning’ of allocated areas during School holidays.
  • Adhering to good health and hygiene practices.
  • Undertaking other such duties of an equivalent nature as may be determined from time to time by your Supervisor.

Dining Room

  • Assisting in serving food.
  • On occasion, when required by the Housekeeping Supervisor, and / or to cover for absent colleagues, to assist the Cook with the preparation and cooking of food.
  • Preparation of the room for meals, ensuring tables, chairs, floors and walls are clean.
  • Assisting in the clearing up of the room after the meal has been eaten.
  • Care and Maintenance of Equipment
  • Exercising care in the use of all equipment used.
  • Reporting damage, faults and repairs necessary to the Housekeeping Supervisor.

 

Training and Development

  • Participating in arrangements for your Induction, supervision, training and development.
  • Undertaking qualifications deemed necessary by the Registered Manager/Head Teacher to fulfil the requirements of the post.
  • Reviewing your own methods of care and support.
  • Participating in the safeguarding of all the children and ensuring that Wings Education Limited Child Protection Policy is adhered to.

Appraisal

  • Participating in your own Appraisal arrangements and those of others, as appropriate.

Staff Meetings

  • Attending meetings of staff, as arranged by supervising staff.
