Mill School Bury is seeking to appoint a Site Officer.

Mill School Bury is a specialist independent school in Greater Manchester for children and young people aged from 7-17. Children with social emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) will thrive with our bespoke approach to teaching and learning. Our assessments will be used to create a personalised, creative curriculum that will be tailored to meet their needs and interests.

The post holder will:

  • be responsible for managing all aspects of the maintenance, upkeep and repairs to Mill School Bury and Grounds.
  • ensure that repairs and maintenance are carried out to the highest standard and that the facilities and the environment of the school are safe and comfortable for the children, staff and visitors.
  • uphold the mission, values and goals of the Group as expressed in the Vision and Mission Statement and be an advocate for the school ethos of Pillars of Parenting, seeing and demonstrating its use as paramount to the success of our children

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Head of school and Group HSO to ensure proactive and reactive maintenance is delivered in a timely manner
  • Be responsible for the security of the site.
  • Be responsible for the cleaning of the site
  • Be required to work independently using their own initiative to overcome problems
  • After training assist in the monitoring and testing of building systems to ensure the school meets its legal obligations under regulatory compliance
  • Undertake some driving duties to assist in the delivery of visits and site logistics
  • At all times adhere to good safeguarding procedures and practice.
  • From time to time be required to work some unsociable hours
  • Be required to support the site teams at the other settings in the group as and when required.
