About the role:

As a Senior Care Worker at High Peak School, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will be responsible for supporting the House Manager and Deputy House Manager in ensuring the effective leadership of the house when on duty, such that it is organised, and managed in a manner that delivers the best possible child care. You will be ensuring a high standard of care and support is available to each child when on duty and that all child care practices in place meet the requirements of current legislation and the expectations of the inspecting regulatory bodies. You will be taking an active role in the induction and training of care workers, in consultation with the House Manager and Training and Development Team; and in particular working with House / Deputy House Managers to promote safe practices in positive handling.

About you:

For this role, we are looking for someone who has experience of working within a children’s home setting, is passionate about supporting young people and holds a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent. You will share our commitment to developing confident and capable young people and making a difference to their lives by meeting their educational, health and social care needs in structured, nurturing school and home provisions, we would love to hear from you.

About us:

High Peak School, part of Kedleston Group, is an independent specialist primary and secondary education and children’s home setting in Disley near Stockport, for children and young people aged between the ages of 7 and 16. We support and care for children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, individuals on the autism spectrum and young people with ADHD, dyspraxia and dyslexia.
