This role is working 4 days a week, 38 weeks per year during school term time and INSET plus 6 weeks holiday to be taken during school closure periods.

About the role:

As a Speech and Language Therapist at High Peak School, you will be an integral part of our teams who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. Our close-knit clinical team currently provides Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Clinical Psychology, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Individual settings also provide Educational Psychology, Owl Therapy, Rebound Therapy, Dog Therapy and School Nursing. Your personal development and growth is important to us, and you will be supported by a Senior Speech and Language Therapist to assist with this.

About you:

As part of this role you will maintain your own specialist, complex caseload of young people, while taking into account priority cases, waiting lists, successful outcomes, referral and discharge of service users, you will identify speech, language and communication difficulties or disorders; assessing the cause and nature of the problem and devising and delivering a suitable therapeutic programme, working on a one-to-one basis or in groups, to enable each of your young people to improve as much as possible. You will advise parents, carers and education staff on implementing a treatment programme and train those other professionals in therapy delivery and monitor and evaluate young people's progress. This will be shared in a timely manner to support EHCP reviews, CLA meetings and Kedleston Governance processes, to ensure progress continues to be made and recommendations remain up-to-date and appropriate.

About us:

High Peak School, part of Kedleston Group, is an independent specialist residential primary and secondary education setting in Disley near Stockport for children and young people aged between the ages of 7 and 16. We support and care for children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, individuals on the autism spectrum and young people with ADHD, dyspraxia and dyslexia
