About the role:

As Assistant Head Teacher at Arc School Ansley, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will work with the Headteacher in all aspects of leadership and management and to take responsibility for managing and developing learning and teaching, curriculum, assessment, and enrichment throughout the school, actively and demonstrably promoting enrichment, entitlement and achievement through building and implementing agreed school policies. You will lead by example, positively encouraging and supporting all members of staff, working with the Headteacher to ensure that the school offers a high quality, exciting, engaging, well resourced, differentiated, and well-matched curriculum for all children. There is a requirement to take on a classroom teaching commitment.

About you:

For this role, we are looking for someone who holds QTS, has experience of working within a SEN setting, and has significant experience of working as a key curriculum leader in a secondary school. You will be able to effectively manage children’s behaviour in a positive way and to promote good relationships and good behaviour and evidence being an excellent classroom practitioner. You will be creative, warm, engaging, transparent and intelligent, well organized, calm and very positive, confident and assuring. You will be able to quickly engage and build appropriate relationships with children and be able to lead, encourage, inspire, motivate staff. About us:

Arc School Ansley, part of Kedleston Group, is an independent specialist day school in Ansley, for children and young people aged between the ages of 11 and 17. Those who come to the school have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition and often many associated social, emotional and mental health needs.
