About the role:

As a House Manager at Wings School Notts, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will be responsible for running the home on a day to day basis and provide a stimulating environment, conducive to the educational, personal and social development of the children as outlined on their education, health and care plans (EHCP). You will be a Key Worker for a child or small groups of children offering appropriate levels of support, guidance and care and you will maintain regular contact with the parents/carers of our children and young people, under the direction of senior staff. You will ensure effective leadership of the house and residential community when on duty, such that it is organised, and managed in a manner that delivers the best possible child care, you will take a full and active role in the induction, supervision, training and appraisal of the care staff which you hold responsibility for, and in particular working with other senior staff in promoting safe practices in positive handling and be participating in the recruitment and selection of members of the care team including hosting Care Worker visits and providing feedback to members of the Leadership Team. In addition you will contribute to the development, review and revision of policies, procedures guidance and documentation appropriate to residential life and share the operational and management budgets relevant to residential life with fellow senior care staff.

About you:

For this role, we are looking for someone who has experience of working within a children’s home setting and care planning for children, is passionate about supporting young people, has management experience and holds a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
