About the role:

As Humanities at Wings Notts School, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. We are seeking a dynamic teacher who can bring real-life and insight and passionate teaching into the delivery of our Humanities curriculum. The Humanities Lead will be central to the delivery and the development of a humanities curriculum ideally to include structured content covering; history, geography, and religious education for students from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will teach classes of up to eight students with the support of a teaching assistant.

About you:

This role will suit a teacher who has a vision for how the traditional delivery of the subject material can be brought alive through the use of learning outside the classroom and potentially, the application of technology including virtual reality resources.

As the lead for your subjects in a school with circa 40 students, you must have the skills to develop a whole school curriculum that meets the Independent School Standards to teach this human and social curriculum from Key Stage 2 leading to suitable awards for a range of abilities at Key Stage 4.

In addition to the leading the subject, the teacher will have responsibility for the provision of excellent pastoral care and positive behaviour management strategies, including the use of restorative approaches. They will also be required to maintain Individual Education Plans, Risk Assessments and Behaviour Management Plans to support the students they are designated as the Keyworker for.
