The role is term time only for 39 weeks per year during school term time and INSET plus 6 weeks holiday to be taken during school closure periods.

This role will start in December for training and is then intended for a 3-4 month cover at Fernways School. The role will then will transfer over to our brand new school when ready to open in Hawley, Camberley.
As School Cook at Fernways School, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will plan, prepare, and serve food to meet pupil’s needs, any specific dietary requirements and in accordance with food hygiene standards. This will include preparing cold food, plating warm food, hot and cold drinks plus any packed lunches, group catering and event catering as required. Your role will require day to day interaction with the pupils in a caring and professional manner.
About you:
Ideally, for this role, we are looking for someone who has previous kitchen experience with a passion for cooking, a food hygiene certificate (level 2 minimum), up-to-date knowledge and understanding of food hygiene requirements. You will have experience of catering for groups, be a hardworking individual with a flexible can-do attitude who has an organised approach. Above all, we are looking for someone who wants to make a difference to our young people’s lives by giving them the variety and nutrition they need.
