Job Description:

This role is working 3 days a week, 39 weeks per year during school term time and INSET plus 6 weeks holiday to be taken during school closure periods.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our dedicated therapy team at Silverways School for 3 days per week. The successful candidate will play a key role in assessing, diagnosing, and providing specialised speech and language therapy services to our students. This position is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the communication development and overall well-being of our students.

As a Speech and Language Therapist at Silverways School, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will provide a high quality standard of speech and language therapy assessment, management, treatment and advice for a caseload of children aged 9 to 17 with a wide range of emotional, social and mental health difficulties, plan, deliver and evaluate therapy treatment programmes as agreed in the child’s EHCP, work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team and multi-agency teams involved with children and their families, contributing to team meetings, consultations, joint assessments, reviews and staff training.

About you:

For this role, we are looking for someone who has a degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent, UK HCPC Registration, and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. You will have successful post registration practice and experience with young people and ideally have experience of working with children with autism and associated needs.

You will have knowledge of and commitment to person centred practice in all stages of the speech and language therapy process and be skilled in carrying out both individual and group interventions, evaluate outcomes of intervention and adapt practice accordingly and work closely with teaching staff and carers in the identification of integrated therapy and therapy related individual objectives, and will have a working knowledge of Child Protection and Safeguarding Legislation and other legislation.
