Today we will be checking in with the children and young people who live at our High Peak School to find out about their experiences of lockdown so far.
The school is set on the border of Cheshire East and the Peak District and provides specialist primary and secondary education for children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, individuals on the autism spectrum and young people with ADHD, dyspraxia and dyslexia.
“In lockdown I’ve been able to work on my independence skills with the team because we’ve had a lot of time on site. I’ve been learning how to cook different things and now I know lots of different recipes. My favourite thing to make is homemade sausage rolls. I have also realised that I’m a lot stronger than I thought. With the support from the school I have managed to get through the struggle of missing my family and not being able to see them properly.”
