Exam success for Arc School Ansley
Pupils at a specialist school in Warwickshire have been celebrating their recent exam results.
Arc School Ansley saw 100% of its leaving students move on to further education, training or employment with the vast majority gaining both a Maths and English qualification.
Between them young people across the school achieved more than 110 qualifications between them, attaining an average of seven per student while two pupils achieved 15 qualifications including more than six GCSEs.
Young people undertook qualifications in a range of academic, functional and vocational subjects including Maths, English, Science, ICT, Personal Development, Sociology, Design & Technology, Home Cooking, PE and the Arts Award.
Their achievements have helped them secure places at college to study a wide range of subjects including health and social care, performing arts, art and design, media, public services, animal care. Hair and beauty and carpentry. Others will go on to study A-levels.
Headteacher Nyree Parker said: "Our students should be very proud of themselves. They have worked so hard to achieve each and every one of these fantastic qualifications and have shown great determination and resilience in doing so.
“Their achievements have given them a great platform to go on to achieve in their chosen fields and we’re delighted that 100% of our leavers will go on to a further education placement at a mainstream college, into an apprenticeship or other employment or into training.
“At Arc School Ansley, we look to nurture individual talents and interests and the wide range of subjects our students will go on to study reflects the diverse range of subjects we offer or support children to engage with both within and outside of our school.”
Arc School Ansley is a day school and provides education and care for children with an autism spectrum conditions as well as social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
The school is part of the Kedleston Group. Kedleston has a range of residential and day schools across the UK. Across the company’s seven secondary schools, pupils achieved a range of qualifications with hundreds of separate achievements recorded for students across more than 100 different qualifications on offer.
The Group is this year celebrating its 13th birthday and the exam results have certainly been reason to celebrate as schools across the Group have seen their students achieve almost 600 formal qualifications including GCSEs and BTECs across a range of subjects during 2018-19.
Across the Group, pupils celebrated successes in GCSEs including in mathematics, art, English and science as well as biology, photography, art & design, sociology and history. The pupils also achieved BTECs, Foundation Studies, Entry Level and many other qualifications over the course of the year with some students achieving more than 11 meaningful qualifications each.
These successes and qualifications have seen 100% of leavers across the Group go on to further education, apprenticeships or employment with more than 75% going on to further education in a mainstream college.
There they will work towards careers in diverse areas including animal care, health and beauty, performing arts, construction, game design, travel and tourism, health and social care, carpentry, media. Other pupils are moving on to Sixth Form colleges where they will study for A-levels.
