Mill School Bury is an independent special school which offers places to children and young people across Greater Manchester and Lancashire. The school Motivates Individuals who have autism spectrum conditions, social, emotional and mental health difficulties, moderate learning difficulties and communication and interaction difficulties for Learning and Life.

The purpose-built school offers a safe learning environment for children living with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and attachment disorder. Children experiencing challenges will thrive in the school which takes a bespoke approach to teaching and learning. Assessments are used to create personalised, creative curriculums which are tailored for each child’s needs and interests.

Our staff team have the experience, skills and qualifications needed provide the very best care and support for vulnerable children.

Class sizes are very small and classrooms are ‘enabling environments’ with sensory lighting, muted colours, individual work stations and visual timetables. Mill School Bury features the very latest in educational technological support including a Rebound Room, immersive reality technologies and multi-sensory equipment.

The curriculum is designed to meet the specific academic, social, emotional and sensory needs of each young person. Through close partnerships with families, professionals and the wider community, Mill School Bury ensures that all young people thrive.

Education health care staff work alongside and collaborate with therapeutic staff and all young people who benefit from a range of whole school approaches including sensory friendly spaces, a visual communication system and individual and personalised programmes designed by therapeutic specialist staff.

The range of qualifications offered include Functional Skills, BTECs and GCSEs. We offer a core curriculum of English, Maths and Science at various levels.
