We are successful in working with children and young people who may have been reluctant learners before joining us. Some may even have not been attending school for lengthy periods of time. Our staff support our children in gaining the desire to learn, and then actually learning and making progress towards a range of qualifications that will enable them to continue their learning when they leave and on into their working lives.
We have found that our children have as a result of being with us, experienced a positive schooling experience and gained the self-confidence to continue on their journey of life long learning on into adult life. They leave us as young adults, with qualifications in at least the core subjects, and quite often with a suite of qualifications in other areas such as first aid and food hygiene.
Our aspiration for our chidlren and young people is that they are prepared for their working lives with attitudes, skills, and qualifications.
Careers - Thinking about the future?
Our bespoke preparation for adulthood programs support children across all Key Stages and focuses on transition and destination work.
This work, alongside other activities we undertake throughout the school day and school week, make a significant contribution to positive relationships between home, school and the world of work.
Our work on behalf of our children involves partnerships with a number of colleges and vocational training centres during KS4 that provide key opportunities that can secure foundation vocational qualifications. All of this helps in building a positive transition to post-16 provision and beyond.
For the past 2 years, our Year 11 leavers have all obtained placements in employment, further education or training.
