Heysham House creates a safe caring and nurturing environment, where we provide opportunities for young people to achieve to their best ability.
We offer 52 week residential placements for up to 5 young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties who are entering into young adulthood and preparing for independent living and further education or work.
Our home provides care, guidance, support and promotes education which in turn promotes the importance of decision making and taking ownership of those decisions. By the use of nurturing, supportive and consistent approach young people are supported to address their feelings and emotions in a safe and manageable way.
The experienced and skilled staff staff team are trained in understanding young people's mental health, understanding anxiety and understanding low mood and depression.
We have created our own needs driven model at Heysham House, with Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs at the centre. Our model has 3 core aspects:
