Before I came to Wings
I was just a girl who was enveloped in a cloud
Of isolation and loneliness.
My voice wall falling on deaf ears
everything just seemed black and empty
everyday seemed as if it was one step away from happiness.
I was trapped, no entry point, no exit point.
I was running but I got nowhere
For I was forced to come back
And no-one could see for they were blind.
Then I came to Wings
My world instantly became brighter
The fog of loneliness lifted
My voice was longer falling on deaf ears
The colour seemed to be slowly seeping back into my world
For its no longer empty for I now have Wings
Wings was the exit point
For someone finally opened their eyes.
Every day I am laughing more and truly smiling, as before, I never laughed or truly smiled and if I did it was fake for most of time I was trying to hold back I river and then I had no hope.
But now because of Wings there is,
It’s a little flicker in the distance
But given time it will become stronger
Its fingers becoming longer
Each time the flame of hope grows
The more darkness will be banished
Until the hope has taken hold
And reached its goal of banishing all the darkness
But unfortunately it won’t last forever
The hopes flame will shrink
Once its magic is spent
The darkness will creep in
A little at first so you just don’t notice it
Then when it’s too late you realise
And you’re left with a glow of embers
Trying to expel the darkness a little before dying
That’s when you need to find a new spark to get the fire going.
Well my fire had died a long time ago or so I thought but Wings was the spark that relit the fire, so I like to say a big thank you to everyone.
