Pupils at our specialist school in Nottingham have been celebrating their recent exam results.
Students in Years 10 and 11 undertook a range of exams including GCSEs and Functional Skills and achieved an average of 5 qualifications each across core subjects including Maths and English as well as Art. A total of 79 qualifications were achieved across the school.
100% of the students achieved a recognised qualification in English, Maths and Science and two students achieved five GCSEs at grades 9-1. 85% of the students achieved a grade in GCSE Maths and GCSE English Language and three students who were entered for GCSE English Literature achieved a grade 9-1.
As well as in academic subjects, there were also successes in more vocational subjects such as BTECs in Cooking, Health and Social Care and Sports.
100% of students from Wings School Nottingham will go on to undertake further education, employment or training including college placements in Art and Design.
Principal Andy Cutts McKay said: “We are always extremely proud of our students and their achievements. This year, every child leaving Wings Nottingham has achieved at least a formal qualification in English, mathematics and science, but most have achieved far more.
“We offer a wide range of subjects with a range of formal qualifications available. The results cover a wide range of core subjects and qualifications in both academic and vocational subjects and they’re a great foundation which the young people can build from.
“Our aim here at the school is to give every pupil the tools they need to help them achieve as they move on from their lives at school and into the world of further education, training or employment. These results are testament to the hard work the young people have put into achieving the qualifications which are the building blocks for those futures.”
