Who we are
Wings School Notts is part of the Kedleston Group and opened in 2009.
We are an independent therapeutic residential community and day school located in a small quiet village in Nottinghamshire. Our school is a beautiful historic building set in extensive grounds and our homes are purpose built and are decorated individually to reflect the residing children's tastes.
We provide social care and education for children and young people aged 9 to 17 years. Children and young people who live with us and/or attend the school often have social, emotional and mental health needs arising from early childhood trauma and attachment-related difficulties. Wings Notts also has vast experience in supporting children with specific learning needs such as; attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD, Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Dyslexia and Dyspraxia.
We promote the social and emotional wellbeing of children and young people, enabling them to achieve in education, enjoy social activities and create meaningful and positive relationships with fellow children and adults. We enable children to feel empowered and supported to take care of themselves physically and emotionally as they make the transition to adulthood.
Wings School Notts prides itself on offering expert support and care to children and young people who have been previously found themselves involved with early County Lines activity and Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE).
We believe our therapeutic and holistic approach helps young people reach their full potential in all aspects of life. Our ethos is not to look at what is “wrong” with a young person, but to look at what has happened in their lives which may be contributing to their difficulties.
