Who we are
Wings School Notts is part of the Kedleston Group and opened in 2009.
We are an independent therapeutic day and residential school in a small quiet village in Nottinghamshire. Our school is a beautiful historic building set in extensive grounds, both the grounds and the school buildings lend themselves to both on and off-site learning. Our 'Alternative Curriculum' allows children and young people who find working in a classroom difficult to re-engage in education working alongside local community groups.
We provide education for children and young people aged 9 to 17 years. Children and young people who come to the school and home may have social and emotional mental health problems, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia, dyspraxia, attachment needs, childhood trauma or other specific learning difficulties.
We promote the social and emotional wellbeing of children and young people, enabling them to achieve in education, enjoy social activities, have positive relationships and feel empowered and supported to take care of themselves physically and emotionally as they make the transition to adulthood.
We believe our therapeutic and holistic approach helps young people reach their full potential in all aspects of life. Our ethos is not to look at what is “wrong” with a young person, but to look at what has happened in their lives which may be contributing to their difficulties.
