We are an independent specialist day school situated within a rural village near Nuneaton, Warwickshire.

Children with anxiety, trauma and related mental health needs are nurtured and supported at Arc School Old Arley using therapy-informed strategies, so that they can learn, build confidence and achieve appropriate qualifications even after extended periods out of education.

The school has a strong focus on helping children to develop their emotional wellbeing, trust-based relationships and resilience. The Sanctuary and other safe places in the school help children to work through their emotions and stay in school, even when that has been challenging for them in the past.

The School’s Pathways-based curriculum groups children by their learning stage and individual needs rather than their chronological age. This helps children who have had negative experiences of schooling or fallen behind their peers, to positively engage with teaching and experience success in a group of peers at the same level. The option to progress as part of the Pathways model is an incentive for those with a love of learning to work hard and achieve their full potential.

Vulnerable young people, who may have experienced bullying, abuse or trauma, and who may feel anxious or even fearful of school, thrive at Arc School Old Arley.
