Olsen House School, a day school in Crosby, Liverpool, provides education for children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. It also offers a specialist unit supporting young people with an autism spectrum condition.

The school saw its Year 11 leavers move on to further education, training or employment with the vast majority gaining both a Maths and English qualification and 75% gaining a Maths, English and Science qualification. In Maths, 89% of young people achieved a qualification in the subject.

With 53 qualifications in total across the school’s leavers, one young person achieved an impressive 15 qualifications!

Across the school, qualifications gained by young people included Entry Level, BTEC, Asdan, Functional Skills, FSMQ and GCSEs in subjects including Maths, English, Science, ICT, Cooking and Food Hygiene.


Their achievements have helped them secure places at college to study a wide range of subjects.

Kedleston Group’s Director of Quality and Compliance, Dr Lynda Mitchell, said: "Even in spite of the challenges brought by COVID-19, the young people Olsen House School have done fantastically well. Our leavers are moving on to further education in mainstream colleges or into training in an apprenticeship. We simply couldn’t be prouder of them.

“They have shown throughout their journey that they have resilience and determination to succeed. Our role here is to nurture their individual interests and talents and give the young people the skills, confidence and experiences they need to give them a foundation to build on for further success.”
