Who we are

We are an independent special day school situated in the heart of the community in Sefton with excellent travel links across Merseyside. The building is bright and welcoming with a variety of different learning spaces indoors and outdoors.

Children and young people from diverse backgrounds come to the school because they cannot continue in mainstream education for various reasons but mainly as a result of social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH).

Our aim for our children is to prepare them for life beyond formal schooling. We do this by engaging them in a curriculum that meets their individual needs, valuing what they each bring and achieve, and supporting them in learning how to manage their specific needs in the context of the world of work.

We also have a specialist provision within the school for young people with autism and specific sensory needs called the Bluebird Provision.

The school has gained the ‘Positive About Disabled’ symbol and achieved the ‘International School Award’ at intermediate level.

Olsen House School is a safe, creative and nurturing environment within which every young person can succeed.
