School Cleaner

Reports to:                            Site Supervisor 

Hours:                                    30 hours per week Mon to Fri: Split Shift 7:00-9:00am and 3:00-6:00pm 

 

Description of Role:            

The post holder will under the direction of the Site Supervisor and Manager be responsible for supporting with all aspects of domestic housekeeping at Mill School.

To maintain high levels of domestic cleanliness to ensure safe school facilities for the children and staff

 

To be an advocate for the school ethos of Pillars of Parenting, seeing and demonstrating its use as paramount to the success of our young people.

 

Duties and Responsibilities Specific to the Post:

 

1.         Cleaning

 

(a)        Cleaning to a high standard the area or areas delegated by the Domestic Supervisor/Head of Pastoral Care and Operations

 

(b)        Storing safely all cleaning materials at the end of the duty period in the appropriate storage facility.

 

  1. Participating in thorough ‘Spring Cleaning’ of allocated areas at specified times

 

  1. Adhering to good health and hygiene practices.

 

3.         Care and Maintenance of Equipment

 

            (a)        Exercising care in the use of all equipment used.

 

            (b)        Reporting damage, faults and repairs necessary to the Maintenance Team.

 

 

4.         Training and Development

 

            (a)        Participating in arrangements for your Induction, supervision, training and development.

(b)        Undertaking qualifications deemed necessary by the Headteacher and Operations to fulfil the requirements of the post.

            (c)        Reviewing your own methods of care and support.

(d)        Participating in the safeguarding of all the children and ensuring that High Peak School Child Protection Policy is adhered to.

 

5.         Performance Management

 

            Participating in your own Performance Management arrangements and those of others, as appropriate.

 

6.         Staff Meetings

 

            Attending meetings of staff, as arranged by supervising staff.
