Our residential school, set in beautiful grounds in High Peak, are looking for an experienced training officer and NVQ assessor to work with our dedicated staff team on a term time plus 3 weeks contract basis. TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICER / NVQ ASSESSOR

Term time role + 3 weeks (41week contract)

Salary - £20,000

Based at High Peak

 

 

 

Responsibilities and Professional Duties

 

 

  1. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and ensuring that High Peak’ ‘Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy’ is adhered to.

 

  1. Promoting and ensuring the general health, safety and welfare of the staff and children and ensuring adherence to High Peak Workplace Health and Safety Policy.
     
  2. Support the development of an annual training and development plan for the provision (home and school), to ensure that statutory training requirements are met and where required keep the whole provision training matrix updated and conduct training audits as directed by the Group Head of Care, Registered Manager, Principal or other senior manager.

 

  1. Liaise with the provisions senior managers to determine training needs and source and schedule training identified as being required.  
     
  2. Design effective training programs, produce training materials for in-house courses and deliver individual training sessions to meet the needs of the provision.

 

  1. Develop a sound knowledge and understanding of E–learning used by the organisation and track the completion of E-learning courses.

 

  1. Manage and lead the company induction programme for all new starters both in care and education and support the induction process of auxiliary staff – Note that some education induction dates will be required to be under taken during the school holiday periods to meet the needs of the provision.

 

  1. Support and mentor new employees with any training needs throughout the duration of their probation period.

 

  1. To monitor the training budgets alongside the Principal, Registered Manager and Head of Education and to maximise the best value from it.  
     
  2. Monitor, evaluate and review the progress of trainees and the effectiveness of training delivered through evaluation questionnaires and discussions with senior managers

 

  1. Ensure all Training that is completed is evidenced through certificates and records and be able to evidence this or produce reports.

 

  1. Keep your own knowledge up to date of developments training delivery by reading relevant resources and attending relevant courses

 

  1. To be qualified in line with NVQ ACADEMY requirements to Assess level 3 Candidates in Residential Childcare.

 

  1. To enrol level 3 Candidates in line with regulation following their successful probation period.

 

  1. To complete and regulate training agreements with all candidates, ensuring they are completed prior to enrolment and copies given to HR.

 

  1. Manage all candidates time frame in relation to enrolment dates and regulation. All Care Worker employees MUST be qualified within TWO YEARS of their START date, not enrolment date (keep a record of these dates).

 

  1. Meet with candidates on a regular basis to complete discussions and reviews as well as set realistic deadlines for written assignments. To then mark all written assignments and feedback to candidates in a timely manner.

 

  1. To keep a matrix of progress and a monthly percentage tracker which supports the evidence required for OFSTED. Submit completed files in line with NVQ ACADEMY requirements upon completion.

 

  1. Highlight any concerns of progress to the Registered Manager or Principal and be able to provide email evidence of support and encouragement given to candidates.

 

  1. To support training needs at other settings (day schools and care homes) on occasion when required.

 

  1. Undertaking other such duties of a training and development nature as may be determined from time to time by the Senior Leadership Team and to support the Kedleston Group by working collaboratively with trainers/assessors in other settings to support the ongoing success of NVQ qualifications, staff induction and training.

 

  1. To adhere at all times to company policies and procedures.
