Deputy Headteacher - Arc School, Ansley, Warwickshire

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Headteacher. A competitive salary, negotiable dependent on skills, qualifications and experience is offered.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • Promotion and development of learning and teaching across the school
  • Quality Assurance and professional standards, including performance management
  • Curriculum Forward Planning and timetable construction
  • Data Analysis and Development 
  • Assessment, Recording and Reporting
  • Continuing Professional Development and staff induction
  • Leading whole staff and subject meetings

The role will additionally support the Headteacher in:

  • School leadership and stimulating a positive ethos
  • Strategic planning 
  • Staff development, appraisal and training
  • Building and strengthening links with the wider school community
  • Managing teaching and learning
  • Ensuring high standards of behaviour

The role will also act as DSL for the setting.

Essential requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status, preferably aspiring to NPQH
  • 2:1 or above degree in a relevant subject
  • Further relevant professional/academic study and evidence of CPD and knowledge of current issues in education
  • At least 2 years of proven strong, successful leadership and management experience in a secondary school
  • Experience of working effectively with vulnerable pupils (experience of working with pupils with ASC and SEMH preferred)
  • Experience of developing policies and protocols
  • Experience of managing and developing individuals and teams

Arc School Ansley is part of the Kedleston Group and opened in 2014.

We are an independent specialist day school in Ansley, a lovely small village, for children and young people aged between 11 and 17.

Our experienced team is dedicated to providing outstanding education to children and young people a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition, who may have many associated needs such as; social, emotional and mental health needs, communication needs and cognition and learning needs.

Many of our young people have experienced significant difficulties in mainstream school as a result of their associated social, emotional and mental health difficulties.  We support our children and young people through specialist teaching and intervention including a range of therapeutic supports.
