We are excited to announce the launch of a brand-new residential children’s home in Buxton which will support young people to achieve positive outcomes and fulfil their potential.
Part of the Kedleston Group, the home, called Dovedale House, will support children aged up to 16. It will provide a safe, nurturing and welcoming home for young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties as well as those with autism or a learning disability.
We are looking for committed, supportive and passionate people to join our dynamic and friendly team of residential care workers. You will play a key part in the development and wellbeing of the children at Dovedale, and in return will be supported to progress in your career.
(We encourage and support all unqualified candidates to become qualified by gaining their NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce, which is completed through on the job assessment by our internal assessors and will start once the probation period is successfully completed).
Qualified Care worker/Night Support Worker = £21,242.00
Unqualified Care worker/Night Support Worker = £18,580.00
Key aspects of being a Care Worker:
- Establishing warm, caring and professional relationships with the children in his / her care
- Providing levels of care and support appropriate to the general needs of the children and those as outlined in their Statements of Special Educational Needs and their Care Plans
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children in accordance with the ‘Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy’
- Providing organised and structured recreational clubs and activities for the development of the children
- Providing or contributing to oral and written assessments, reports and reviews relating to individual children or groups of children
- Being a Key Worker for a child or small group of children offering appropriate levels of support, guidance and care
- Successfully completing all training and qualifications in accordance with organisational and regulatory requirements
