Senior Care Worker - Team Leader – Children’s Residential Home

Qualified Senior Care Worker = £22,360 + £50 per sleep-in

Hours: 40 per week on a shift basis

Essential requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 Children & Young People or equivalent
  • 2 years’ experience of successful working with SEBD children, or within the SEN sector
  • Evidence of knowledge and experience of behaviour management

The Kedleston Group are delighted to be opening a new childrens home in Poynton, East Chesire. The home will cater for children with social, emotional and mental health needs between the ages of 9 – 17 years.

We are looking for committed, supportive and passionate people to join our dynamic and friendly team of residential care workers. You will play a key part in the development and wellbeing of the children, and in return will be supported to progress in your career.

Key aspects of being a Senior Care Worker:

  • Establishing warm, caring and professional relationships with the children in his / her care
  • Providing levels of care and support appropriate to the general needs of the children and those as outlined in their Statements of Special Educational Needs and their Care Plans
  • Directing/supporting staff
  • Report writing and record keeping
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children in accordance with  our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy’
  • Providing organised and structured recreational clubs and activities for the development of the children
  • Providing oral and written assessments, reports and reviews relating to individual children or groups of children
  • Being a Key Worker for a child or small group of children offering appropriate levels of support, guidance and care
  • Successfully completing all training and qualifications in accordance with organisational and regulatory requirements
