We are excited to announce the launch of a brand-new residential children’s home in Buxton which will support young people to achieve positive outcomes and fulfil their potential.

Part of the Kedleston Group, the home, called Dovedale House, will support children aged up to 16. It will provide a safe, nurturing and welcoming home for young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties as well as those with autism or a learning disability.

We are really pleased to have appointed three fantastic Team Leaders. Join us this week as we find out about the experience and expertise they will be bringing to the home...

Suzanne previously managed a provision providing care and support to adults with learning difficulties, acquiring a Level 4 Diploma in Health and Social Care before deciding upon a career change to work with children and young people.

She has supported children and young people for approx.  9 years. She has worked through the ranks and spent a considerable amount of time as a senior residential worker prior to becoming a Deputy Home Manager and then a Registered Manager.

Suzanne says, “I can recognise individual potential, I am solution focused and I am able to support young people in their personal journeys in challenging obstacles that have previously hampered their progress. I would like to continue to work towards my Diploma Level 5 in Leadership and Management. 

I am passionate about what I do and always put 100% in everything I do. I have good communication skills and like the varied strengths and weaknesses in a team to utilise them in providing a positive, nurturing and therapeutic approach to supporting young people to achieve their goals.

There is an “I can’t” mentality in a lot of young people but with the right support anything is achievable. My cup is always half full not half empty so I will always look at different ways of achieving goals set. 

I enjoy the outdoors, walking and camping. I enjoy travelling, both in this country and abroad. I love reading and cooking. I also enjoy socializing and spending time with my family and friends. 

I am really looking forward to this next chapter and working at Dovedale House.”
