Today, we want to take a moment to celebrate an achievement that fills us with pride! We are thrilled to announce that our Wings Notts Residential Care Home has achieved a ‘Good’ grading in a recent Ofsted inspection, a testament to their commitment to each child's holistic development.
Wings School Notts Residential Home, nestled in the heart of Nottinghamshire, is a safe haven that caters for children between the ages of nine and 17 years. Their focus is on providing compassionate care and support to children with a wide range of emotional, social, and additional needs.
Wings School Notts caters to a diverse group of children, each unique in their challenges and needs. The children present at the time of the inspection have formed strong relationships with the staff members who work tirelessly to create a nurturing and inclusive environment that fosters growth and success.
Throughout the inspection process, Ofsted highlighted the exemplary care, attention, and understanding displayed by our staff members. The team's relentless efforts to nurture each child's emotional well-being, support their academic progress, and help them build essential life skills were praised wholeheartedly.
Inspectors noted: ‘Children enjoy living at the home. They are well cared for, feel safe and have strong relationships with staff.’ And that ‘staff provide children with a range of exciting experiences, including holidays abroad, day trips, cultural events and creative activities.’
Ofsted could see that ‘Staff ensure children are listened to and work hard to understand their needs. They support children through difficult times and do not give up on them. One child said, ‘Staff are really good and have really helped me out a lot.’
The focus is firmly on the future, with Ofsted commenting how ‘children develop new interests and hobbies through charity events and work experience. One child has won a scholarship with a local football club, which is a significant achievement. As a result, children grow in confidence and master new skills.’
