About the role:

As Art and Photography Teacher at Silverways School, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will plan, assess and deliver outstanding teaching and learning using proven methods and approaches that enable all young people to learn, whilst ensuring that pastoral needs are also met. You will establish excellent relationships with parents and carers and inspire trust and confidence in pupils, colleagues, families and other professionals. As we are a small school, alongside Art and Photography you will also be tasked with delivering food technology at KS3 using the Food Fact for Life programme and the NCFE Level 1 / 2 Technical Award in Food and Cookery at KS4.

This role involves meeting the needs of children and young people in an academically driven and therapeutic school. Candidates should be dedicated to promoting confident and capable young individuals who are well-prepared for their GCSE examinations and beyond. About you:

For this position, we are seeking individuals who either hold QTS or possess a strong teaching background and are ready to pursue their teaching qualification. We are keen to hear from teachers who have experience working with children with SEND and autism however, due to the supportive culture at Silverways School, this position may also be suitable for mainstream and Early Career Teachers who feels they are ready to take on a challenge. Additionally, candidates should have experience in teaching GCSE and alternative Level 2 qualifications.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate a proven ability to deliver high-quality and effective secondary teaching, engaging and motivating young people throughout their education. They should have a genuine passion for supporting students in their learning and development and a strong commitment to making a positive impact on their lives and education.
