Salary range: £30,000 - £46,525 plus £2,539 SEN allowance per year

About the role:

The role of Key Stage 2 Teacher at Olsen House is exciting, dynamic, and demanding. The successful candidate will be able to teach all aspects of the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum. You may be asked to teach this to pupils of a higher chronological age. If successful, you will work with an outstanding team of dedicated professionals who are committed to the very best standards of education and care for our pupils. You will deliver engaging, exciting, and challenging lessons, whilst ensuring that every member of your group can access learning at a level appropriate to them. You will play a strategic role in curriculum design and development, implementing schemes of work and adapting them to suit the individual needs of pupils in line with their education and health care plans. You will assess, monitor, record and report on the progress and achievements of pupils.

Regardless of their starting point we will help our students raise their aspirations, renew their self-belief, and help them to achieve their potential, moving on to their next steps in life with confidence. About you:

We are looking for a qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) who, ideally, has experience of working within a SEN setting, a passion for supporting young people to learn and develop, but more importantly, someone who wants to make a difference to the lives and education of our children and young people. Olsen House is a very special place indeed. We cater for some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in society. All our pupils have an Education Health and Care plan, which describes additional need in Social, Emotional and Mental Health. Many are on the autism spectrum and a considerable proportion have several comorbid additional needs. Many of our young people can present with behaviours of concern and it takes a very special person to support them. We serve children and families from the Merseyside area and beyond. Our success is based on establishing exceptionally powerful relationships, helping pupils to develop pro-social skills that enable them to navigate society more successfully. We operate without sanctions, and we use reward to achieve a calm learning environment for all, modifying behaviour over the long term. Our emphasis is always to support pupils make choices that are positive for everyone.
