Hawley Woods School provides specialist support for children with an autism spectrum condition or children with needs of a similar profile, in an environment designed to best meet their learning needs. Our warm and nurturing school supports up to 90 children across Key Stages 2, 3 & 4 in small classes of 6-8 pupils.

We help children re-engage positively with education including those who have been out of education for a period of time or who have had negative experiences in other school placements.

Our specially-designed environment has been created to best meet children’s sensory needs and create the best setting for them to learn and achieve their potential.

The specially-designed school offers a safe learning environment for children with additional needs. Children experiencing challenges will thrive in the school which takes a bespoke approach to teaching and learning. The team creates creative curriculums which are tailored to enable children to access National Curriculum content and gain the experience, skills and qualifications needed to make their next steps with confidence.

Class sizes are very small and classrooms are ‘enabling environments’ with spacious layouts, considered lighting, muted wall colours, use of visuals and schedules and individual work stations in KS2.

The curriculum is designed to meet the specific academic, social, emotional and sensory needs of children. We have an enhanced creative and physical offer to support and develop our learners in line with their broader needs and interests.  Through close partnerships with families, professionals and the wider community, Hawley Woods School ensures that all children thrive.

The range of qualifications offered include Unit Awards, Entry Levels,  Functional Skills, GCSEs and vocational qualifications.
