All our children and young people have identified social, emotional and mental health difficulties. They may also have learning difficulties such as autistic spectrum disorders including Asperger’s Syndrome, Attention Deficit Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, moderate learning difficulties and other specific learning difficulties.
Our vision is to create a safe, and caring community where there is a passion for learning and mutual respect for all. Children and young people have the opportunity to develop to their full potential in preparation for their future lives in a nurturing setting. We are committed to providing the highest standards in both Education and Care.
There is a particular focus on outdoor learning which enables those children and young people who find working in a classroom difficult the opportunity to re-engage in their education and the school community.

"Whilst I have only been to the Wings site once, to have introductions with my young person and staff, I was impressed with the knowledge, organisation and care provided to the Children and young people living and learning with you."
Social worker
"He certainly has flourished since joining Wings and I think that is because he has found his true identity and can be himself. This is credit to the school. He didn’t have this confidence at his previous school.
We are confident he is in the right place to receive support accordingly."
Parent
“Children are doing very well. The progress they have made is ‘amazing’.”
Social Worker
“Wings School Cumbria has a nice feeling and environment to it; there is a good balance between school and the living environment. Staff are friendly and organised.”
Support Worker
"Frankie is a completely different child to the one that arrived at Wings. She is making academic progress and in terms of her emotional wellbeing she is now much happier, more relaxed and in control of her emotions."
