Teaching Assistant

Permanent - Full Time - £18,590 per annum - 41 hours per week

We are looking to appoint two versatile, resilient and committed Teaching Assistants to join our small and friendly team at Arc School Ansley.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally with children and young people with ASC and complex needs
  • Have experience of contributing to the effective implementation of individual programmes by supporting teaching and learning, social and independence activities and experiences, which enhance the learning and development of children and young people
  • Have highly developed communication and caring skills and an ability to connect with children, young people and colleagues
  • Be comfortable working independently but under the supervision of a class teacher
  • Be highly emotionally resilient with an ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ideally hold a Teaching Assistant qualification at level 2 or higher

Arc School Ansley is part of the Kedleston Group and opened in 2014.

We are an independent specialist day school in Ansley, a lovely small village, for children and young people aged between 11 and 17.

Our experienced team is dedicated to providing outstanding education to children and young people a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition, who may have many associated needs such as; social, emotional and mental health needs, communication needs and cognition and learning needs.

Many of our young people have experienced significant difficulties in mainstream school as a result of their associated social, emotional and mental health difficulties.  We support our children and young people through specialist teaching and intervention including a range of therapeutic supports.
