FAQs
Can I pay for my child's placement privately?
Kedleston Group do not currently accept privately funded pupils.
How is my child's placement paid for?
All placements at Kedleston Group schools are funded by Local Authorities.
Are there spaces at your school(s)?
We are transparent about our school numbers and will advise during the referral process if a suitable space is available or when a space may become available.
Some of our schools are currently full, but our pupil numbers can fluctuate slightly during the school year, and we do operate waiting lists where required.
Can my child start mid-year?
Yes, providing the school has a space in the appropriate year/class group, children can start at any point during the academic year if all parties agree.
I'm a parent/carer, can I visit your school(s)?
Yes, all of our schools offer regular open events for prospective parents and carers to attend. Places at these events are limited so we advise you to book in advance via the website.
Will I know if you have received a referral for my child and will you communicate a decision with me?
Local Authorities will often consult with several settings for each child. We will not notify parents/carers if we receive a consultation, but instead work with the Local Authority to assess and advise how we may meet that child’s needs.
If you wish to check if a consultation has been received for your child, you can contact us via [email protected].
We are unable to update parents and carers on the progress or outcome of a consultation; this information will only be communicated to the Local Authority.
Can I make a referral for my child?
No, referrals need to come from your Local Authority.
Do you accept referrals year-round?
Yes, we accept referrals throughout the year, including during school holidays.
I'm a professional, can I visit your school(s)?
Yes, we are very happy to arrange visits for professionals at a convenient time. Please contact us to arrange a visit to any of our schools via [email protected] or 0800 024 6985.
How can I check the progress of a referral?
Please contact us for an update on a referral via referrals@kedlestongroup or 0800 024 6985.
What information do you require for a referral?
As a minimum, we require a child's most recent EHCP.
We also welcome any further information which may assist us in determining how our school(s) could meet the child's needs.
