Arc School Old Arley was filled with festive spirit this week as pupils celebrated Diwali — the Festival of Lights — through vibrant decorations and delicious food, all as part of their Duke of Edinburgh skills programme.
As part of their DofE cooking skills, pupils prepared a colourful Diwali feast featuring coconut squares, spicy rice, vegetable curry and mango lassi. The sessions gave them the chance to develop practical skills, explore new flavours and learn about cultural traditions in a fun, inclusive environment.
The school was also decorated with handmade Diwali-themed creations, including lanterns and rangoli-inspired designs, bringing warmth and colour to classrooms and corridors. The celebration was a joyful reflection of Arc School Old Arley’s commitment to cultural awareness, creativity and personal development — and a brilliant way to combine learning with celebration.
