Olsen House School

A group of our YR 10’s recently visited Lancashire Farm as part of our ongoing ‘Employer Experiences’. We learned how the farmers care for the animals, what they eat and how they stay healthy. Also, we watched the cows being milked using machines as well as how milk is stored and how hygiene is maintained to keep it safe. We met the cows and calves some only a week old! giving the students a chance to enjoy a closer connection to the animals. We then discussed the various job roles within the farm and additional jobs which are linked to the farm i.e. seasonal workers, delivery drivers, Vets etc.
