This year, Fernways celebrated a huge milestone: our very first Year 11 cohort completed their exams. For many of our students, this was the first time they had experienced a full examination process — and every single one of them achieved success.
What makes these results truly special is not just the certificates, but the journeys behind them. Some of our pupils had not attended school for over a year before joining Fernways. Others carried such high levels of anxiety that sitting an exam once felt impossible. Through our nurturing approach and the strength of our school community, every pupil overcame those barriers and left with qualifications that reflect their creativity, confidence, and resilience.
- 100% of students achieved nationally recognised qualifications, ranging from GCSEs to Functional Skills, Cambridge Nationals, Entry Levels, and LASER units
- Every student left with a set of outcomes tailored to their strengths and aspirations, made possible by bespoke educational programmes.
- Our curriculum enabled students to shine not only in core subjects like English, Maths and science, but also in Art, Creative iMedia, Food & Nutrition, Geography, History and PE.
- For some, the greatest achievement was not the grade on the paper, but the confidence to sit the exam in the first place.
One student summed it up on results day:
“If I’d never come to Fernways, I’d never have passed my exams.”
For us, success is not measured by a single grade. It is seen in students rediscovering a love for learning, in families celebrating progress once thought impossible, and in young people leaving Fernways ready to take their next steps into college, training, or apprenticeships.
At Fernways, exam results are just one part of a bigger picture. We are proud that our pupils not only achieved strong outcomes, but also left with the confidence to belong — not only to our school community, but to the wider community beyond.
