More Than Football: Leaways Pupils Embrace Arsenal Enrichment Programme

Wednesday, 14th October 2026, 08:39

Every Friday, our pupils enjoy taking part in an Arsenal enrichment programme that combines their enthusiasm for football with meaningful learning experiences beyond the traditional classroom.

Accompanied by Samrai, our Leaways Employee of the Month, and Harold, our new Design & Technology teacher, pupils benefit from a combination of classroom-based activities and practical football sessions, helping them develop academic, social, and personal skills in an engaging environment.

During the classroom sessions, pupils participate in structured learning activities that encourage concentration, communication, problem-solving, and independent thinking. By connecting education with their interest in football, the programme helps pupils recognise the value of learning in different settings.

On the pitch, pupils develop their football skills while strengthening teamwork, resilience, discipline, and confidence. These experiences reinforce our school ethos of Respect, Relate, and Respond, encouraging pupils to build positive relationships, work collaboratively, and approach challenges with determination.

The programme also supports pupils' wider personal development, helping them recognise their strengths, build self-belief, and develop skills that can be transferred into their everyday school lives.

At Leaways, we recognise the importance of enrichment in supporting pupils' engagement, wellbeing, and aspirations. Our weekly Arsenal sessions demonstrate how learning can be both meaningful and enjoyable.

We are delighted to see our pupils embracing these experiences and look forward to their continued progress.
