Welcome to Shillington Park School.
My name is Ricardo Hylton, and I am proud to be the Headteacher of Shillington Park School, serving the communities of Wandsworth and surrounding London boroughs. I bring over 16 years’ experience in education, including six years as a Headteacher, with extensive experience supporting children who have experienced trauma, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), neurodiversity and complex needs.
At Shillington Park School, we focus on the whole child. Alongside high academic expectations, we work to develop confident, resilient young people who are prepared for adulthood and able to lead fulfilling lives. Most importantly, we want every child to come to school happy, safe and cared for, knowing they are valued and supported.
Strong partnerships with families are central to our work, and safeguarding and wellbeing underpin everything we do. Having previously led a school from an early stage to an Outstanding Ofsted judgement, I understand what it takes to build a strong, inclusive and ambitious school community.
I look forward to working in close partnership with our pupils, families, staff and the wider community as we continue to develop Shillington Park School at the heart of its community.

Our school offers a bespoke, personalised curriculum, underpinned by the SCERTS framework and tailored to each learner’s strengths, needs and ability. Life skills development is an important element of the Shillington Park curriculum.
Through flexible pathways pupils engage in learning that is meaningful, motivating and aspirational. Built around communication, wellbeing, independence, preparation for adulthood and community participation, our curriculum enables pupils to develop the confidence, knowledge and skills they need to succeed in school, navigate everyday life and thrive in their future.
Integrated therapeutic support
Integrated therapeutic support
Our school team includes full-time Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists, who play a central role in school life. Their expertise informs the design of our learning environments and specialist facilities, as well as the strategies used in classrooms each day.
Pupils benefit from a range of purpose-designed therapeutic spaces, including dedicated sensory areas and a fully equipped sensory integration room. Support is embedded throughout the school day on a universal basis and where needed, with targeted small-group and individual interventions.
