Message from the Headteacher

Welcome to Shillington Park School.

My name is Ricardo Hylton, and I am proud to be the Headteacher of Shillington Park School, serving the communities of Wandsworth and surrounding London boroughs. I bring over 16 years’ experience in education, including six years as a Headteacher, with extensive experience supporting children who have experienced trauma, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), neurodiversity and complex needs.

At Shillington Park School, we focus on the whole child. Alongside high academic expectations, we work to develop confident, resilient young people who are prepared for adulthood and able to lead fulfilling lives. Most importantly, we want every child to come to school happy, safe and cared for, knowing they are valued and supported.

Strong partnerships with families are central to our work, and safeguarding and wellbeing underpin everything we do. Having previously led a school from an early stage to an Outstanding Ofsted judgement, I understand what it takes to build a strong, inclusive and ambitious school community.

I look forward to working in close partnership with our pupils, families, staff and the wider community as we continue to develop Shillington Park School at the heart of its community.

What We Offer

Curriculum approach

Curriculum approach

We will find the best learning approach for each pupil. For some that will lead to a more academic pathway and for others a vocational approach will suit them better. All of our pupils will have opportunities to gain qualifications across a range of subjects that suit their learning needs, from GCSEs and Functional Skills to other national accreditations.

Pupils will also be supported to attain those all-important life skills needed to navigate the busy world beyond school. There will be a strong focus on developing independence and employability skills.
