Shillington Park School - Opening January 2027
WandsworthCurriculum & Approach
At Shillington Park School, our curriculum is ambitious, personalised and designed to enable every learner to thrive. We recognise that pupils arrive with individual strengths, needs and experiences of education, and our curriculum responds to each learner rather than expecting every child to follow the same journey.
Our three curriculum pathways – Explorers, Discoverers and Challengers – provide flexible routes through learning, enabling pupils to access an appropriate blend of engagement, semi-formal and formal learning. Pathways evolve as pupils develop, ensuring that learning remains meaningful, challenging and relevant, with opportunities to work towards qualifications appropriate to each learner.
Across the school, our curriculum is underpinned by communication, wellbeing and resilience, independence and life skills, preparation for adulthood, and community participation. These priorities are woven throughout academic learning and enriched through purposeful experiences within school and the wider community.
We aim to nurture curiosity, build confidence and self-esteem, and develop the knowledge, skills and independence pupils need to achieve their aspirations, take their next steps and lead fulfilling lives beyond school.
